For Christmas this year I was kindly gifted a Bakedin subscription. This basically means that every month you receive a box (that fits through your letter box) filled with all the dry ingredients you need to make a delicious homemade bake! They provide detailed instructions, separate bags of ingredients (no weighing required!), and pictures/stencils etc to recreate the bake!
December's recipe was a 'winter spice cake', which also came with the ingredients to make spiced cookies to go with them. It took around 3hrs total I would say (although there was five of us on Zoom, which may have meant it took slightly longer !!). The recipe was easy to follow, and you just needed to add butter, cream and eggs - which most people would have in anyway!
Each month is a surprise, so it's the gift that keeps on giving! They offer 3, 6 or 12 month subscriptions - for both baking and bread. They also have lots of other products too, including one off baking kits and 'create your own cake' boxes, as well as selling all the baking accessories you may need!
I just think its a really good idea, especially for students or families, who enjoy to bake but don't have the time or the inclination to buy special things or spend excessive amounts on huge bags of flour and sugar...
If you want more info, check out their website at https://bakedin.co.uk/ or find them on instagram at @bakedincakes
On a slightly more sombre note - I know lockdown 3.0 is hitting us all hard, and I know it feels like it's never ending... But with the approval of THREE vaccines now, the end is in sight. We will get through this.
Stay safe everybody,
B x
